DYRMS on Wikipedia

I have recently expanded the DYRMS page on Wikipedia and would appreciate any advice on necessary alterations, errors, and particularly notable alumni and note worthy former headmasters and masters. I am in contact with the school and hope the OBA may be able to help, if only to raise awareness of my aim to expand the school’s Wikipedia page.

Annual Luncheon – 24th April 2010

Dear Dukies

This is an important reminder about the upcoming Annual Luncheon due to be held on Saturday 24 April in London.

At the time of the AGM held last Friday, the number of bookings for the luncheon was less than 20. In order to ensure this event is viable, it is important that firm bookings are received by your Hon.Soc.Secretary as soon as possible.

A booking form can be found by clicking HERE

Prior to the luncheon, at 1100 hours in the Main Bar, there will be an opportunity for those interested in the transition of DYRMS to ‘Academy status’ to learn more.

The AGM approved the proposition that an ‘envelope raffle’ will be held at the luncheon with proceeds going to a newly set up service charity, the Mark Wright Project, aimed at helping mentally traumatised service personnel. Cpl Mark Wright GC, 3 Para., received the GC posthumously for gallantry in a terrible minefield incident in Afghanistan.

The AGM also determined that the OBA will aim to support a ‘different’ service charity each year.

Charity Adventure Race

Hi, I’m Adam Grant, an Old Boy, Roberts 2000-2004.

I’m now in the RAF and along with 3 other serving colleagues have entered a Charity Adventure Race in May. The difference is that we need to get voted into the race by the public. The public vote closes 31 Mar 2010. We are currently laying in 5th place, so the last qualifying team, but only just. We need as many people to vote for us so we can get in, and raise money for Help for Heroes.

I was wondering if you could spread the word among the Old boys network to ask them to vote. It is simply a case of visiting a website, entering your date of birth (age verification) and clicking to vote for our team (Team Riff RAF).

The website can be found by clicking HERE

Are you able to help us here and spread the word, or tweet it, put it on facebook etc. We already have the backing of Selly Oak, H4H, BFBS, and Sgt Slingsby (the Holidays 4 Heroes Bear) to name a few.

Thanks
